Sesiapa yang merasa marah tetapi dia tidak dapat meluahkannya maka dia seumpama keldai dan sesiapa yang merasa redha terhadap sesuatu tetapi dia tidak dapat menerimanya maka dia seperti syaitan yang mana redha dengan ketentuan Allah tetapi tidak mahu tunduk kepada perintah-Nya. “Keredhaan manusia sukar untuk engkau capai dan bukanlah bermakna selamat daripada lidah manusia sudah boleh dianggap mencapai jalan kepada mendapat keredhaan mereka. Oleh itu hendaklah engkau melakukan perkara yang bermanfaat kepadamu dan sentiasalah berbuat demikian”.

Ada sunnah di sebalik Swine Flu?

KISAH UMAR DAN WABAK

Umar ra was on his way to ash-sham when he reached the area of Sargh where he met Abu Ubaydah bin Jarrah ra with some people. They told Umar ra that there weas a outbreak of the plague in ash-sham. They disputed among each other about what to do.

So Umar ra said to ibn Abbas ‘ Summon the early migrants’

Ibn Abbas ra Said ‘ I summoned them and they also disputed, as some of them said (to Umar) you went out for a certain purpose and we recommend that we do not go back until it is fulfilled.’

Other migrants said ‘You have the best of the people in your company and the remainder of the companions of the messenger of Allah SAW. Therefore, we do not recommend that you send them towards the epidemic’

Umar said ‘go away from here’

He then said ‘Summon al-Ansar for me’

ibnu Abbas summoned them  and Umar asked for their opinions. the ansar disputed just as the migrants disputed and copied their behaviour.

Umar said ‘ go away from here.’

Umar then said ‘ summon whoever is present from the leaders of quraish from those who embraced islam in the aftermath of the fath (conqeuring the mecca);

Ibn Abbas said summoned them and no two among them disputed, as they all said ‘ we recommend that you go back with the people and do not expose them to the epidemic.’

Umar then ordered the peopole leave, saying ‘in the morning, i will be riding on my animal’s back and so you should too.’

Abu Abaydah bin Al-Jarrah said ‘o amirul mukminin! do you run away from Allah’s appointed destiny?’

Umar said ‘i wish that somebody else had uttered these words. O Abu Ubaydah! yes, we run away from Allah’s appointed destiny to Allah’s appointed destiny. If you had a herd camels that arrive at a valley that has two slopes, one fertile and the other barren and you let your camel graze on the fertile slope, you will do so by Allah’s leave, will you not? and if you allow them to graze on the barren slope, you will do so by Allah’s leave, will you not?’

soon after, Abdur Rahman bin ‘Awf came back from attending to some of his needs and said ;i have knowledge regarding this matter. I heard rasulullah SAW said

‘if you hear about it(the plague) in a land that you are in, do not run away from it, and if you hear that it broke out in a certain land, do not enter the land’

3 perkara yang dapat kita ambil pengajaran daripada kisah di atas

  1. menjauhi daripada penyakit dan quarantine itu adalah salah satu sunnah rasulullah SAW. beliau sendiri yang menghalang keluar masuk ke dalam satu kawasan itu jikalau terdapat sebarang wabak
  2. konsep qada’ dan qadar yang dibangkitkan oleh Saidina Umar ra bahawa dengan ilmu dan pengetahuan itu ia mengubah ketentuan kita.
  3. Beware of swine flu…May Allah protect us from swine flu. insyaAllah
